Using a Metronome

I have recently been asked about how to count BPM when practicing. Well in all honesty there is no real way of doing this. You are only human so you will stray in and out of time naturally. Personally I use a metronome I bought from Guitar Center. They are quite cheap, I got mine for $15.

Or

You could use this site http://www.metronomeonline.com/ Here you can just your computer as a metronome.

Give it a try!

"Logging" Your Progress

Hi Guys,

I have just been thinking of new ways in which I could help everyone learn how to play and master the drums.

One of the things I have been doing of late is "logging" all that I do on a spreadsheet. Writing down the names of the techniques you are trying to master and logging (in your own way) how you are coming along.

For me personally I have written it all down in "technique name" i.e para-diddle and then the BPM ( beats per minute ) that I am currently achieving.

This can be a great way to track your progress which in turn is a great motivator to carry on playing!
